Stairwell floor sanding in Aarhus
A dark, worn communal stairwell became bright, even-floored and inviting.
Øens HåndværkerCentral sanded approx. 35 m² (approx. 20-55 m²) of wooden flooring in a housing association's communal stairwell in Aarhus back to bare wood. We removed scratches, signs of wear and old finishes, then applied matt lacquer for durability and easy maintenance. The stairwell is now brighter, more even and much more presentable. We planned the work so residents could get around without unnecessary disruption.

The task
Years of use had left the wooden floors in the housing association's communal stairwell dark, scratched and badly worn. The uneven surface affected the appearance of the whole shared area. The association wanted a more presentable space that gave residents and visitors a better first impression.
The solution
- Sanding all the flooring in the communal stairwell back to bare wood
- Removing scratches, signs of wear and old finishes
- Matt lacquer for durability and easy maintenance
- Work planned so residents could get around without unnecessary disruption
The result
The floors are now bright, even and much more inviting. The matt lacquer provides a tough surface for everyday foot traffic, improving both the appearance and practicality of the stairwell. The housing association now has a communal area that makes a much better impression on residents and visitors.
