Balcony algae treatment at Isbjerget
Sun-bleached and discoloured hardwood regained its colour and life without any sanding.
Øens HåndværkerCentral treated a hardwood deck of approx. 9 m² (approx. 6-14 m²) for algae on the waterfront at Isbjerget in Aarhus Ø. We gently cleaned the sun-bleached, discoloured wood without sanding or pressure washing to protect its fibres. In half a day to a day, the wood regained a much more even, vibrant colour.

- Service
- Algae treatment
- Surface area
- approx. 9 m²
- Duration
- 0.5-1 day
- Treatment
- Algae treatment and hardwood refresh
The task
The deck showed clear signs of exposure to sun and salt, along with algae growth, especially beside the glass balustrade where moisture had collected. The wood looked patchy and dull. The customer wanted to restore its natural appearance and improve the durability of the surface.
The solution
- Gentle algae treatment specifically for hardwood
- Rinsing without high pressure to protect the wood fibres
- No sanding, only cleaning and care that preserves the wood's character and structure
The result
The wood now has a much more even, vibrant colour. The surface is visibly cleaner, looks better and is more resistant to wear, leaving the deck looking almost new.
Jeg havde ikke regnet med, at resultatet ville være så flot. Altanen ser som ny ud, og det var virkelig en hurtig og effektiv proces. Vi er meget tilfredse!Henrik N., Aarhus Ø
